Pandora

I must keep telling people to check out pandora. If you already are a pandora member and love it (and you should) add the pandora share application to your facebook account if you got one.

I got a celtic/celtic rock/singer songwriter w/ celtic twist station that is phenomenal. I cannot take all the credit for it, since my mom got it started and then she shared it with me. Now it is my own station, with my own likes and dislikes taken into account. I have an excellent hip hop station that was seeded with Jurassic 5 and and Alt Rock station seeded with The Beta Band that has developed really well.

I also have a dump off station for songs I like, but do not jive with the station I am listening to. That is a nightmare right now. A good 4-5 hours of listening and critiquing could make it great.

If the above post makes no sense, Please reread the first paragraph, thank you.

So Long...

The last class of my undergraduate collegiate career ended at 12:51 pm EST. Its but another in a series of realizations that my time left at my home of the past 4 years is quite limited.

Finals week. I got one of Friday, a paper due on Tuesday and not one but two finals on the last day of finals (Thursday). Then I plan to go see Spiderman III after partaking of a generous dinner put on by the Biology Dept faculty and then I walk.

As a complete side note, complements to Morgan Brown, a muskie whose self recorded music i acquired through the grapevine and I am quite digging at the moment.

Back to leaving, I moved almost completely out this past weekend, and my room is vacant. Its almost depressing to look at the empty drawers and closet and unburdened tv stand and think that I have lived here for a year, and only for another two weeks. I'd probably feel worse if I was in my old room at sinfo. That was my home for 3 semester, and could have been 5.

I will not miss the classes, but I will miss the people and the places, the professors that care and the friends that were always there, the rooms that i learned in and the places that i lived. College, despite its downs and frustrations, excelled in the goods and greats and life. I think I truly found life here. I look forward to seeing where I go from here and I hope to come back long and often, but if not, I will always have that mark of Black and Magenta on me.

So Long Muskingum, and thanks for all the fish

Sharing is Caring...

Stumbled upon this website and its affiliate while looking for a game to kill some time with (really bad idea, but what can you do?). Giveaway of the day and game giveaway of the day are two websites that all web junkies should look up. These sites provide licensed applications and games for free for a limited 24hr period. They update 7 days a week and if you download and install the software BEFORE the free period runs out, then you get to keep the software forever.

The purpose is to provide an outlet for software makers to perform a litmus as to how the software will be liked. You can visit either site and look at their current offering as well as browse through their past offerings.

Enjoy, and don't waste too much time.

Psychobilly Freakout

No, not the song. Its what i am doing right now. Test and presentation due tomorrow along with a research paper due this Friday (15 page minimum). I loath papers, especially when I think that they are due a week later than they really are.

Only 3 weeks of class left.

Waiting on my application to be accepted or denied.

....

Sometimes I think I am just waiting for something. Who out there has that feeling?

As a side note, I am pumped to see where this new Dimension story line takes in Sluggy Freelance. I am not going to lie, but the story with the Dimension of Pain invasion and Torg's heroic deeds was almost heart wrenching and i was on the edge of my seat when Oasis went mad. IF you have NO CLUE what i am talking about, do I have something for you. Click on "sluggy freelance" to the left here. GO on. Click it. Its a damn fine web comic. Thanks to Dean for telling me about it, even though it took me 2 years to actually get around to reading it ( I read all 10 years of the near daily archives). Read it, its a cut above the rest.

Application and Applications

OK, What they should make sure happens when you print in an envelope feature of a word processor, IS THAT IT FREAKIN PRINTS LIKE ITS ON AN ENVELOPE. I tried for an hour to get 3 different word processors to work with my printer (wordperfect, MS word, and open office writer). You know what i forgot to tell the darn thing? THAT when you print an envelope, the document is shaped like an ENVELOPE!!!

thats right, i had to select that in the "print an envelope", in my printer settings, AND my document style. Should at least 2 of those be enough?

Why am i trying so hard to print an envelope? why not write it? Well, these happen to be the envelopes for my grad school applications and the professor recommendation forms (it would be rude to not provide the stamp and envelope).

So my application is getting along ok. It could be better, but meh.

Okay I am feigning disinterest. The truth is that i am about to have a fit and cannot stop myself.

PLEASE WAIT FOR FIT TO CEASE

Cracked Pepper Watch

Ok, so i am getting excited about the new CCC mashup album. If you don't know what i am talking about, go here. This fellow has and ear for this sort of thing. He has put out two albums and probably an additional individual 15-25 songs.

Go to his blog and find your way to sweetest apples, his best of album. There you will find the creme of the crop and at a better sample quality than other mp3s he has put forward.

But back to cracked pepper. His other album, Revolved, was the combination of many different songs and generations of music in order to form and album that became an internet sensation. Well he is doing this again with Cracked Pepper. On June 1, the 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, CCC will release a mashup album in homage to what is considered by many to be the turning point in the music of the Beatles.

I post this today, because today I found he had released a song from the album. I was so pumped that i downloaded it immediately and listened through it a couple times. I'm hearing the Doors "I Look at You" mixed in there as well as part of Jimi Hendrix's "Fire" (this one is subtle, I think it is the bass going bum-bum-bum), but I hope he posts the included songs soon. He, unlike some mashers, provides quite a bit of detail as to what is in his work.

Well, talk to y'alls later

Zero Hour

9 am. Just thinking about graduation, leaving the land of the muskies and buckeyes. I'll miss everybody. I want to visit a lot, but who knows if that can happen. I guess i am feeling down about it today (changes daily).

Hope to have a better post later on, but i just want to let everyone know, this is an attempt at a good bi-daily blog.

Yours,
Brandon M.
